The Mandela Bay Theatre is on the corner of John Kani Road and Winston Ntshona Street in Central and contains the Opera House as the Main Stage, the Barn Theatre and technical and stage services. MBTC central administration and development hub is at 68 Cape Road. Here based are the CEO and CFO Offices.

Mandela Bay Theatre Complex boasts the historic The Opera House. “The” denoting it being the first of its kind in South Africa built in 1892. The other historic feature is the Barn Theatre which was an insertion to The Opera House in the 1900s. This historic building is based at the Corner of John Kani Road and Winston Ntshona Street.
Further the institution boasts a stained glass that commemorates a historic achievement of the prestigious Tony Award in 1975 by Winston Ntshona, John Kani and Athol Fugard. It is here where MBTC hosts its Seasons, Festivals and Artistic Events. However, MBTC runs its business at 68 Cape Road in Millpark. This is where all administration and operations are undertaken, as well as the development programmes of the institution.
